This policy explains how Tech1UK Limited ("Tech1UK", "we", "us") collects and uses personal data when you visit tech1uk.com, contact us or use our services. We follow the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

1. Who we are

Tech1UK Limited is the data controller for the personal data described here. We are a company registered in England and Wales, company number 15465857, with our registered office at 51 Halton Road, Chester, CH2 1SN. Our registration with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) is in progress, and our registration number will appear here once issued.

2. The personal data we collect

Enquiries: your name, company, email address, phone number, town or postcode, the service you are interested in, your message and how you heard about us, when you use our enquiry form, email or call us.
Clients: contact details of the people we deal with, records of support requests and work carried out, and billing details needed to invoice and get paid.
Data on systems we support: when we support your IT we may be able to see personal data held on your systems. In that case we act as your processor, under our agreement with you, and only use it to provide the service.
Website data: technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, recorded by our hosting and security systems to keep the site secure and working. If you agree, analytics and advertising cookies may also collect information about how you use the site (see our cookie policy).

3. How we use your data and our lawful basis

4. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only where needed to run our business, with:

our group company Tech1UAE FZ-LLC in the United Arab Emirates, whose engineers may help deliver support and projects;
service providers who process data on our behalf, such as our website host (Hostinger), email and productivity provider, accounting software, phone system provider and the remote support, monitoring and security tools we use to look after client systems;
trusted subcontractors when a job needs extra specialist help, under confidentiality obligations;
professional advisers, insurers, and authorities where the law requires it.

5. International transfers

Some of our providers, and our group company in the UAE, may process data outside the UK. Where a country does not have UK adequacy regulations, we protect the transfer with appropriate safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask us for details.

6. How long we keep data

Enquiries that do not lead to work: up to 24 months, then deleted.
Client and financial records: for the length of our relationship and then six years, to meet legal and tax requirements.
Security and server logs: normally no longer than 90 days.
Cookie choices: six months, after which we ask again.

7. How we protect your data

We apply the same standards we use for our clients: access limited to people who need it, multi-factor sign-in, encryption in transit, prompt security updates and regular backups.

8. Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, email info@tech1uk.com. We will reply within one month.

9. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, telephone 0303 123 1113.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last changed.
